Fra Indi

The Project was born in 2016 and is based on expeditions and explorations with sled dogs, conducted solo and self-sufficiently during the winter season, through which Fra Indi reads and interprets what he calls the impressions of nature that are then integrated with literary, philosophical and art-historical contents.

The aim is to show and communicate how it is possible and proper to seek and search for a relationship in balance with nature: going back to the natural rhythm of time as opposed to the obsession with the fast rhythms imposed by the dominant social system.  Fra Indi hopes that his journey can be a sparkle for an emotional awakening to make a small contribution for a conscious evolution of the human kind. Living the natural environment is the first step to a true reconnection with the Earth and being content with less is the key to a life indialogue with our planet; this is something that traditional people and communities have been knowing for a long time.

The Project also aims to make people aware of what Fra Indi calls Ecological Emergency, which is intended as a crysis of relations and relationships.

The key to understard the root of the problems of our lifestyle is thinking about the intrinsic limits, contradictions and criticalities of Modern Civilization.

Why dogs as a part of the project? The dog becomes a teacher of non-verbal communication thanks to its genuine perception of nature and its ability to interact with people, thus creating a bridge between humans and nature. The dog is an example of adaptation and an incentive to focus on the present moment.

From 2023, the values and the core ideas of The Project are promoted and shared by the Jaranga Cultural Association.
